Kia ora, next week is Te Wiki o te Reo Maori and so this week we're looking at how early learning services champion and celebrate te reo Maori. Also, 10 top tips from VROOM on boosting children's school readiness.
Celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Maori in child care
Every day, there are opportunities for early childhood education (ECE) services to champion te reo Maori and incorporate the language into little ones' learning.

There are songs to sing, books to read and visitors to welcome, and during Te Wiki o te Reo Maori (Maori Language Week), ECE services around the country are joining Kohanga Reo, whanau and the whole Kiwi community to celebrate and practice te reo Maori.

Maori Language Week runs next week from 13 to 19 September, and today, we're sharing ways for tamariki and educators to get involved with the Week, courtesy of Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori (the Maori Language Commission).
Brain-building activities for under fives
Your child's brain grows fastest from the time they're born to the time they go to school, and in these first five years, there are many ways you can support their learning.

Everyday interactions, like mealtimes and bedtimes, offer extraordinary opportunities to build your child's brain, and Vroom Tips™ are a great way to harness the magic in these moments.

Vroom is a global program of the Bezos Family Foundation, and they offer over 1,000 free, science-based activities for ages zero to five.
