Happy Holidays from CareforKids.co.nz
|
In a year of unprecedented challenges, when everything has changed, it is helpful to reflect on how lucky we are to be in Aotearoa, relatively safe from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic internationally.
To all of you in our community thinking about family overseas at this time of the year we wish you the very best and hope you find some joy, despite being separated from your loved ones.
This is our last newsletter for 2020 and we resume in February 2021, with this in mind we thought it might be helpful to do a brief recap of our achievements this year, to demonstrate what we have managed to get done, despite the significant disruptions caused by COVID-19.
- We proudly showcased and celebrated the extraordinary efforts made by early childhood services to support families during the COVID-19 imposed lockdown which saw many of us trying to balance the competing challenges of work with home-schooling.
- We redesigned our home page, consolidating our identity as the destination for families seeking care, and to improve access to our interactive tools and information resources.
- We launched our market and data insights and improved our analytics and reporting to make it easier for you to measure your performance against other services as well as your all important return on investment.
- We developed a dedicated hub of COVID-19 resources for all our community members, which was widely accessed and reinforced the message "we're all in this together."
- We established a new partnership with ParentTV to deliver a series of parenting webinars for our Care Corporate clients.
While we're looking forward to another busy year in 2021, it is with some relief and a great deal of gratitude that we are putting down our tools for 2020 and looking forward to a break.
We wish all of you a happy and peaceful holiday and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
Best wishes
Roxanne, Mark and the team at CareforKids.co.nz

Serving up safety at end-of-year festive celebrations
|
While the pandemic has disrupted end-of-year celebrations across the globe, New Zealand is one of a few countries allowing early learning centres to throw open their doors for an end-of-year celebration with no physical distancing requirements or limits on the number of people who can attend.
Creating a memorable celebration is a valuable experience for educators, children and their families especially if older children are saying farewell to their early years education as they transition to primary school.
As the pandemic still lingers, health and safety issues are more important than ever, especially at events. With a focus on food and beverage safety, we've put together suggestions to assess the risks and mitigation potential to help plan a fun, meaningful and safe celebration.

Wrap up Christmas with eco-friendly crafts
|
There's a dazzle of decorations, carols in the air and shops are teeming with festive flurry, a clear seasonal signal to get creative and plan your festive season program. Designing fresh and fun activities can be tricky, so we've put together a collection of fun seasonal ideas for a joyful and inclusive learning experience.
It's been a challenging year but early education centres across the country have done a stellar job during these uncertain times. As the lead up to the holidays is a busy time, plan for a relaxed program with a loose framework to ease into activities and crafts that follow your children's interests.
