Celebrating diversity at Christmas
|
|
|
|
Celebrating Christmas extends beyond the fun and fanfare of sparkly decorations, carol singing, and crafting. It's also a great opportunity to embrace the diversity within the community of children and families in your service.
New Zealand is a linguistically and culturally diverse nation made up of Maori, European, Chinese, Indian, Samoan, Filipino (and many more) ethnic groups. This diversity in our population means that Christmas does not look the same to every child.

There's no better gift than one that’s been lovingly handmade by a child, and with the Christmas advent calendar countdown ready to kick-off now is a great time to bring forth the creativity with some process art projects.

That's a wrap!
As our final newsletter for 2019, we wanted to take the time to say a very special thank you for your continued support, and for being a loyal and valued member of the growing CareforKids.co.nz community.
Launching CareforKids.co.nz fulfilled a long-standing goal for us and the warm welcome we have received has made all the work worthwhile!
More than 5000 early childhood education and care providers are part of our community since the start of the year and this number grows every day.
We have worked hard to deliver an all-inclusive platform which makes it easier for providers to showcase their service and boost occupancy rates, this includes:
- Our Child Care Vacancy Alert system which alerts a service when a parent registers a new care requirement which matches their current vacancies
- Free waitlisting and request a tour tools
- Profiles which include up-to-date fee and vacancy information
- Authentic ratings and reviews which offer parents valuable insight
- Our weekly newsletters which provides a vehicle for showcasing inspiring and interesting early childhood educators and service.
Next year we will focus on making more real time connections between providers with vacancies and parents looking for care. To achieve this, we will make it even easier for you to update your fee and vacancy information by sending reminders and will reward responsive providers with higher rankings in our search results. Watch this space!
But now, it's time for a break! We wish you all a happy and peaceful festive season and look forward to a productive start to 2020.
Best wishes
The team at CareforKids.co.nz
