BestStart Napier Central (formerly ABC Napier Central) is situated right next to the Marewa Shopping Centre. We are very central to the Napier CBD, so very handy for families working in town. We also have a number of schools close by; Nelson Park School, Saint Patricks Catholic School, Onekawa School, Napier Intermediate and Marewa School.

At BestStart Napier Central, we understand that choosing an Early Learning Centre is one of the most important things you will do for your child. Taking the time for you and your child to get to know the centre and the teachers will help with your decision and transition. Transitioning into a centre takes time for both parents and children. Before starting at BestStart Napier Central, we encourage you and your child to come in and spend some time with us getting to know the teachers, our routines and the exciting programme. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like as it is our priority to make you feel comfortable and a part of our learning environment. We love it when families contribute and we welcome your input to your child’s learning or our centre in any way. Every child is unique, we embrace diversity and facilitate experiences that not only follow children’s interests but are exciting too.

Our Infant Centre - We have fantastic qualified teachers who have had many years of experience working with infants and toddlers. They have developed a programme which caters for your child’s individual milestones and development and are able to show you this through your child’s learning journal, filled with photos, stories and artwork.

We are also very lucky to have a very large outdoor environment with plenty of natural free play space, climbing equipment and sandpit for the children. Inside our converted Villa is an array of age appropriate resources which cater for children’s interests and also assist with developmental milestones. The indoors is designed to encourage small group learning. We believe this helps promote children’s abilities to work together, develop social skills and also learn from one another.

Our nursery is warm and cosy with each child allocated their own specific cot so everything feels familiar and calm. A teacher stays with your child until they fall asleep. We welcome your guidance about your child’s routine so we can try and replicate this in centre.

Our Pre-school - Our high quality teaching programme incorporates Te Whariki (Early Childhood Curriculum). It is designed to meet our children’s individual needs, development and help them get ready for school. Our teachers are here to support and inspire young minds. Our learning centre fosters an environment where creativity is encouraged through art, music and movement. We ready our children for school with fun experiences that incorporate numeracy, literacy, outdoor challenges, large and small group experiences and various other activities which involve social skills and children’s interests. We strive to offer your child the very best nurturing and learning environment we can.
