At BestStart St Leonards Kindy (formerly Community Kindy St Leonards), from the age of 3 your child can set the direction of their own learning by actively exploring the environment and choosing what they would like to discover more about. We are conveniently located in Tomoana Road and to fit with school drop off and pick ups are open 7.30am – 4.30pm. They will be a part of our small, caring community of 30.

Your child’s play is valued learning, through it, they develop strategies for initiating, maintaining and enjoying relationships with their peers, teachers and community. Our vision of ‘Creativity inspired by nature’ is emphasised by our nature based curriculum. Open exploration, where your child can foster their imagination, challenge themselves, engage with nature, and learn how to respect and care for the environment all happens in our tranquil front garden.

Your child will be part of group learning experiences as well as having their individual learning pathway supported by our highly skilled and experienced teachers. The cultural diversity of our community is embraced by our team who partner with you to meet your aspirations.

Preparing your child for school starts with us. Being ready for school means you child will be a capable, confident and competent learner. We will encourage this throughout our daily rituals and routines and is and extended upon with each birthday. When your child turns 4 we offer them the opportunity to build their skills and extend their learning. by providing school visits where your child gets to experience a real working classroom with a small group of their friends and teachers. We’ll support your child to develop a love of literacy and numeracy through taking them out into our community to experience these in ways that are meaningful. When your child turns 5 and is ready to transition to school we celebrate their learning journey with a ‘Last Day Celebration’ where your child will engage in the ritual of wearing our graduation gown, receiving a framed graduation photo and a certificate to pass onto their school teacher containing crucial information that will help their teacher gain a better understanding of your child’s stage of development.
