BestStart Elles Road (formerly EduKids Elles Road) is a centre that stands out from the rest. We have qualified teachers that are passionate, enthusiastic, and above all else dedicated to preparing children to become lifelong learners. Your child will experience an environment that is safe and secure with a peaceful, calm and unhurried atmosphere, that also creates a sense of wonder and excitement.

BestStart Elles Road is a purpose built childcare centre in Invercargill, caring for children from 3 months to 5 years of age. We are a centre that prides ourselves on providing a quality service. Our centre is situated in the Strathern area, easily accessible to many schools, parks and the hospital.

Our tamariki (children) will learn about the people, places and things in their world by kaiako (teachers) being committed to building responsive partnerships with whanau.  Our kaiako understand that these relationships are key to shaping the mind, body and spirit of our tamariki. We empower our tamariki to safely express their emotions in an environment where they feel affirmed as an individual, their voice is valued and their cultural identity is respected.

Our under two year old teaching team are passionate and in-tune with the needs of individual infants and toddlers. We offer a genuine caring, safe, fun-filled environment with loads of opportunities to explore and develop while respecting your child's individual routines and interests. Our safe, fun filled environment is a place where your infant or toddler has many opportunities to explore and develop at their own pace. Your child will enjoy their own secure outdoor space with a covered veranda for those rainy days and a variety of planned and spontaneous experiences daily that will ensure they have the best possible opportunities to learn.

In the over two year old area we have a strong focus on building independence through self-care and self-help skills. Tamariki are supported to take an active role in their mental and physical wellbeing, and encouraged to understand and express their emotions and ideas in a safe place. We greatly promote and facilitate free play where children are given the opportunity to explore, investigate and problem solve using all senses. When your child turns four, they will have the opportunity to be part of our Fantastic Fours initiative which has a heavy focus on literacy and numeracy skills.  Tamariki are encouraged to explore curriculum areas in a fun and meaningful way, in an environment in which they feel empowered to think critically.
